   IN THE NEWS

After a stellar debut hosting this year’s award show, comedian and actress Nikki Glaser will return to host the 83RD Annual Golden Globes, January 2026 on CBS.. Glaser made history as the first woman to host the Globes solo, and received rave reviews. “Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” said Glaser. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from ‘The White Lotus’ who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in season four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”

It’s a wrap for CTV Connect – and news broke at the very end of the two-day conference. Nicolle Pangis, VP Advertising at Netflix, revealed that Netflix Ad Stack will be called the Netflix Ad Suite as of April 1 – and the highest ad load you’ll see there is 4 minutes per hour to avoid ad fatigue. “Can streaming create a different viewing experience? I think Netflix is a great example of doing it differently and successfully, and that’s why we’re doing it thoughtfully and intentionally,” said Pangis. “We can and should make it different, which hasn’t always been the case with the broader streaming ecosystem.”

Sinclair has partnered with The Salvation Army to launch Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope. As part of the effort, Sinclair will produce content to air within its newscasts throughout the campaign, which runs from March 17- March 23.

The trailer for “The Last of Us” season two drew 158 million global views across platforms in its first three days, to rank as HBO and Max Original’s most watched trailer during the time period, outperforming previous “The Last of Us” trailers and teasers by a margin of at least 160%.

   TECH REPORT

A recent study by Adlook found major flaws in so-called socio-demographic targeting in digital advertising. “Our analysis reveals that brands often rely on outdated demographic segments, resulting in inefficient and costly campaigns,” said Mateusz Jedrocha, Chief Product Officer at Adlook. “Legacy media-buying strategies and limited offline tools, like panels, force complex consumer profiles into broad categories such as ‘Women 20-44.’ In today’s digital age, this is unnecessary – brands can now target consumers based on real interests and behaviors, reducing wasted spend and reliance on outdated assumptions.”

   SPORTS REPORT

TNT Sports’ streaming coverage of the upcoming 2025 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship plans to offer a full slate of live enhancements to its March Madness coverage, including enhanced video features, a new “Mascot Mode” for the Bracket Challenge and a redesigned Boss Button for fans watching the games in the office. The new “Mascot Mode” bracket-picking tool allows fans to predict the winner of every matchup based solely on the mascots of each participating team. And the Boss Button returns with new ways for desktop users to discreetly enjoy Tournament action, including allowing them to covertly watch game action via a mini-player on their monitors while a suite of available screen disguises – email, calendar and planner apps – are displayed on their devices
