Debbe Dunning, former “Tool Time” girl on Home Improvement, has a new project: hosting and executive producing adventure travel series Debbe Dunning’s Dude Ranch Roundup. Each week, Dunning takes viewers on adventures from white water rafting in Colorado to exploring the petroglyphs in Montana, starting November 1 at 9p on RFD-TV.
Cynopsis: You’ve come a long way since your days as the Tool Time Girl. How did this show come about?
Dunning: I came up with the concept a few years ago but it wasn’t until February of last year that I made the connection with Patrick Gottsch, owner of RFD-TV, and he loved the idea so we became partners.
Cynopsis: How has television changed since your Home Improvement days?
Dunning: There are so many different shows and options now it’s hard to watch them all and if you want to watch them you can basically watch them anytime you want.
Cynopsis: In making the transition you did, are there things you would have done differently?
Dunning: I think the only thing I would have done differently would be to have branded myself better on my days at Home Improvement.
