The show’s creator, Jeff Franklin, would write, with cast members including John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweeten and Andrea Barber onboard, and involvement from Bob Saget and Dave Coulier. Reruns of the show are averaging 1.5 million viewers in prime time on Nick at Nite, up 7 percent from last year.

RATINGS

NBC’s Emmy broadcast averaged 15.6 million viewers. It was the kudofest’s second biggest audience in eight years, after 2013’s 17.8 million, despite airing in August on a Monday night, rather than an awards-show-friendlier September Sunday.

The MTV Video Music Awards delivered 10.3 million total viewers for its live telecast on MTV, MTV2, VH1 and Logo TV, and 13.7 million across all airings for the night.

ABC World News tied NBC Nightly News to top the A25-54 news demo the week ending August 22, Diane Sawyer’s last full week as anchor. David Muir slips into Sawyer’s spot on Tuesday. CBS Evening News delivered its largest audience of the summer, according to Nielsen, up 12 percent in viewers compared to last year, and a summer-best 1.4/6 in the news demo, up 17 percent.

Ratings for the top entertainment mags were up the week ending August 17, following the tragic news of the death of Robin Williams. Extra jumped 25 percent, to 1.5; Entertainment Tonight was up 21 percent, to 3.5; The Insider got an 18 percent lift, to 1.3, and Access Hollywood saw a 14 percent boost, to 1.8.

The season finale of TNT’s The Last Ship drew a Live + Same Day audience of 4.4 million viewers, up 6 percent versus the prior week. Combined with its 11p encore, the finale has so far delivered more than 5.6 million viewers, with 2.1 million A25-54 and 1.7 million A18-49. With a week to go, the net claims the top spot in the summer ratings race, as the number one basic cable net in primetime.

Saturday’s U.S. championship game of the 2014 Little League World Series presented by Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, in which Chicago  defeated Las Vegas, generated a 3.6 overnight rating, according to Nielsen, a 71 percent increase over last year’s U.S. title game.

Monday’s premiere of Fast n’ Loud on Discovery delivered an average 2.69 million viewers P2+ and was cable’s number one show among M25-54 (2.68) and M18-49 (2.20) delivery (excluding sports), and number two in all of television in the male demos, behind the Emmys.
