MSNBC canceled Alec Baldwin’s short-lived talker, Up Late. The actor had been given a two-week suspension following confrontations with paparazzi that included an anti-gay slur. A planned November 29 Up Late episode has been scratched from the news net’s schedule. “This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best,” said MSNBC. After five weeks, Baldwin’s show had dropped 40 percent from its premiere, averaging 395,000 viewers its last airing.

~ IN THE NEWS ~

60 Minutes reporter Lara Logan has taken a leave of absence following a discredited October 27 story about the 2012 attack of the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. After Family Guy‘s talking dog Brian was struck by a car and killed Sunday night, a website touting a “special announcement,” raised grieving viewers’ hopes.
