~ RATINGS ~

NBC‘s The Voice got a bump Monday night, its 3.8 A18-49 rating up two tenths week to week. That could have come at the expense of ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars, which lost three tenths, falling to 1.7, a Monday night season low, but DWTS still ranked as Monday’s most-watched entertainment show, with 12.5 million viewers.

The season is looking bright for Hallmark Channel: strong openings for two new holiday movies lifted the net to its highest-rated weekend in history. Snow Bride was number one at 8-10p in key demos, including W25-54 (1.7 rating), making Hallmark the number one cable net in the demo in primetime Saturday. On Sunday, A Very Merry Mix-Up garnered a 3.9 HH rating and reached 911,000 W25-54, earning Hallmark the cable crown for the day in the demo.

Sunday night’s 2013 MTV EMA drew an estimated 39.4 million viewers globally, early data indicates, a record for the international music show. Across all social media sites, there were 57.9 million mentions of the EMAs, a 624 percent increase over last year, chatter likely assisted by Miley Cyrus lighting what looked like a joint during her acceptance speech (a snippet censored from the U.S. telecast).

In the news: The week of November 4, Fox News Channel rose to 2.098 million viewers and 376,000 A25-54, versus 202,00 in the demo for MSNBC and 146,000 for CNN. FNC finished second, after ESPN, among cable nets.

Several syndie talkers got off to a good sweeps start. The week ending November 3, which included two sweeps days, Live with Kelly & Michael was up 15 percent week to week for a 3.0 rating, per Nielsen, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show was up 12 percent, to 2.9. Dr. Oz got a 10 percent boost for a season-high 2.2, its best rating in 25 weeks.
